Terms
Greek and Latin words that carry the library’s subjects: each term page gives its dictionary definition where the lexicons have one, every work that uses the form, and example passages in context. Counts cover the library’s Greek and Latin original-language texts only (3,948,966 Greek tokens in 207 works, 1,547,706 Latin tokens in 49 works), and count the dictionary form exactly as written, accents ignored (Greek) and v/u and j/i treated as single letters (Latin). Inflected forms are not included — that is later inflected-search work, not this index. Terms with no occurrences are kept as subject keywords; their pages say so plainly.
