The decree on the Eastern Catholic Churches. It honors the liturgical, theological, and disciplinary patrimony of the Eastern Churches as equal in dignity to that of the Latin Church, safeguards the autonomy of each Eastern Church in its own governance and rites, and exhorts Eastern Catholics to preserve, cherish, and hand on their venerable traditions rather than abandoning them.
